When I'm brainstorming ideas, you have to go into like complete non critical mode with yourself. It's a discipline called lateral thinking. So instead of following one logical step to the next, you are doing your best to move sideways into areas that might not make sense before. That is so interesting for a magazine editor because it takes down the bit of your brain that's the editor for a while. But yeah, you definitely have to play, I think I use the example in the Jason talk that it's like improv, you're not allowed to tell yourself, no, that's dumb,. You have to say yes, and like, okay, a throwing star strawberry, sure, yes
