What Did We Get Wrong on Election Night?
After 2016, pollster said, okay, we're going to now make sure that we wait by education. We can't have too many white people with college degrees in our samples. So then 2018 comes and goes, and you know what, the polling was pretty good. The folks who were less willing to answer the surveys were also more likely to be Trumpier, right, more supportive of Trump. What did we get wrong here? And there wasn't an easy answer to that.
