The War in Vietnam and Trauma in the US
The war in Vietnam was the first American war, at least that I can think of, in which there was massive and active opposition to the war. It also happens at a moment when the American Psychiatric Association anyway is revising its diagnostic and statistical manual. And then people back in the US, whether in the veterans administration, hospitals, or in larger contexts, we're seeing a lot more trauma.
