The New Recommendations for Long Term PPI's

The United States Preventives Task Force also put up some new recommendations in 2022 around things that I think elderly patients really will probably be a little irritated with. They recommended against beta-carotene or vitamin E for the prevention of cardiovascular disease or cancer and they said there's insufficient evidence to support multivitamins for those reasons. Oral electrolyte or repletion is always going to be a better option because of the price differential so if unless there's some reason the patient can't take PO then consider like oral electrolyte or Repletion.
