What Does It Do for World Literature?

There is a sense that world literature in its most popular conceptualization might bury a power in history. So you have, on the one hand, a post colonial theory which kind of a dwells on it or or or uses, possibly dated ways of understanding models of power and history. And then you have an illision of power in history - so what does it do for world literature? Wellye, i mean, it would be to have a synthesis. It would be great to have a world literature which is aware of the self mythologizing power of western countries. I'm not pretending it's easy, because it does get tricky.
