The FAA's Safety Alert: Background

Six serious runway incursions have occurred since January 2023, including an incident at JFK and New York involving a taxi and aircraft. The FAA is recommending that all of the people involved in the search safety of aviation use internal communications processes to specifically highlight recent events or existing issues. Reinforce adherence to published processes and procedures, including checklists, air traffic control instructions and internal company procedures. Ensure pilots and flight attendants have the same understanding of what sterile flight deck means during this time.
