Introduction

The first consignment of Jute was unloaded on the docks of Dundee in 1820. The city came to be known as Juteopolis, the center of the world's jute industry. India exported jute bags worth $120 million in the last financial year. Compared to 2021, this was a 50% rise. Think IKEA, Walmart, the British retailer Tesco, the German retailer Aldi and the French hypermarket change Ehrlichre all want jute shopping bags.
