Reading Recovery Teachers Don't Tell Kids to Speak Out Words
Mari Clay's theory is that good readers don't have to know how to sound out words. Sandra Iverson says reading recovery teachers were not supposed to tell kids to sound out the word. Instead, you could tell them to look at the first letter and let a pop area head. Teaching kids to read this way has become known as 3-Qing.
