There's too much carbon dioxide in the air, and it is becoming clear that we need to find a way to pull it out. Enzine called h d c r could help us do this by converting hydrogen into formic acid which can be used as fuel. It does this by taking an electron from the hydrogen to reduce the carbon dioxide. But nobody has been quite sure how - now researchers have put forward an explanation.
