Kurtz and the Wanderer
Marlowe meets Kurtz, who is half English and half French. He finds a handwritten note that says to exterminate all the brutes. Marlowe suggests he had been taken in by the native people's way of life. The Russian tells Marlowe that the natives attacked them only because they do not want the white men to take their leader, Kurtz, away.
