Animals Are God's Creatures

God prohibits murder and says, if you shed the blood of man by man shall his blood be shed. But also says that you can eat of the animals, the flesh of animals. God entrusted animals to the stewardship to those whom he created in his own image. That's us human beings. Hence it is legitimate to use animals for food and clothing. They also may be domesticated to help man in his work and his leisure. Medical and scientific experimentation on animals is morally acceptable if it remains within reasonable limits or contributes to caring for saving human lives. It is contrary to human dignity to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly when human beings could be helped.
