The Office of Eldership Preserves the Church Against Error
In a 1990 sermon from 1 Peter, John MacArthur outlines what the Bible says about church's leadership. Churches were led by a plurality of godly men and he explains why that is important. Where you have a plurality of elders or pastors, leaders in the church, it preserves the church against error. One other good reason for plurality of leadership in a church is it preserves against discontinuity.
