The Importance of Self-Focused Attention

Coaches look for signs of self-focus attention in people who are anxious. They might ask about where is your attention focused as you're talking or thinking about asking a question. The more self-conscious people feel, the more their attention is focused upon themselves and it can have a paralyzing effect on them. Coaches will then try to map those processes out so that they understand what's happening.
