Are Cryptocurrencies a Tool for Autonomy?

The idea of having absolutely no control over your own thoughts is kind of scary. I could easily see the internet going in that direction if these trusted intermediaries just take the wrong turn. And so if you think of privacy as a tool for autonomy, then you can think of anti privacy. So like giving up all your information as atool for authoritarianism and others control of you.
