Operation Freshman was organized by combined operations. The responsibility for the operation passed to SOE entirely with the thought that the best way now to effecting sabotage would be solely by the use of Norwegians. A company Linga looked for a specialist team to send in, and they selected from their already selected men. They were parachuted onto the Haddangavida but had no idea where they were.
