Is There a Large Evidence Base to Support Inquiry Based Instruction?

When students don't thrive with one instructional approach, we have to think about another instructional approach that will help them. There isn't a large evidence base to support the use of inquiry based instruction with all students. If we want to think about explicit instruction, so that's instruction that is more explicit in nature, more modeling and more practice and lots of feedback provided to students.
