The Largest Unclaimed Land on Earth

Marie Birdland is by far the largest unclaimed plot of land on Earth. It's 1.6 million square kilometers, or 620,000 square miles in area. There was formerly an American and a Soviet research station there. According to the 1959 Antarctic Treaty, the United States reserves the right to make future claims on the continent.
