The Evidence Base for Thrombalysis for Stroke
Thrombalysis for stroke has got a reasonable idea behind it. It's there to try and dissolve those clots that are causing an acute stroke. Not all strokes are caused by clots, and therefore they won't be dissolved by it. There are going to be associated bleeding risks when you administer a systemic agent like thrombalysis. But nice now recommend we give outer plays to strokes that present within four and a half hours of their onset.
