In Isaiah 58, the people seem to be addressing that he's going to kind of rhetorically use is we're fasting, but you're not taking notice. We're afflicting our souls, but you don't hear us. He also has some critical stuff in verses seven five through six about fasting and humility. So I would say from my experience with young people over the last 30 years, fasting is the most underutilized tool that we have to grow closer to God.
