How Important Are the Prior Roman Trade Routes to the Frankish Kingdom?

When the franks initially began to expand their influence into gaul, we can see that the prior roman networks of exchange were disrupted pretty heavily. But by the later fifth and n the sixth centuries, we already start to see a revival of long distance trade in gaul with new links being developed across the north sea andd into eastern europe. So even though there was this early deterioration of the prior rRoman trade, we really shouldn't underestimate how deeply connected the frankish realm would eventually become after that.
