It's just about putting your ego and check if you want to make that boss look good Who cares who gets the credit for it? If you go out and accomplish the mission The guy who's in charge is going to get the credit for regardless, right? So that's okay and you can't worry about that. There's nothing you can do better than build trust with your boss rather than give him all the credit.
