I think the direction this stuff goes eventually is serverless containers with a Lambda personality on top of it. That seems to be the most common sense way where this stuff should go. There was a time that I would have argued with you on that point and a number of purists were very dead set against that entire idea. But in practice, we've seen that the boundary between the idea of functions and containers has been steadily thinning throughout. And I think what you describe now looks a lot less like a fantasy for people to rail against and more like an inevitability that it's time to prepare for.
