The barge will hold up to 500 men who are awaiting asylum decisions. There are buses every hour to the nearby coastal town of Weymouth. Officials say this will all help them integrate into the local community. Currently, taxpayers are paying £6 million a day to house 51,000 asylum seekers in hotels.
