How to Tell a Job Interviewer You're Smart

If you have non-directly transferable experience, the only thing you want to communicate is that you're smart. If you come from a career that is not software, I think it's helpful to have a story about why you moved into software. There can be advantages in people skills and communication where you had to work more directly with other people.
