I became the show defense minister in 2016. The question of our submarine capability has been front and centre in my mind since then. I had given long speeches on all the topics that we've been talking about right now. Obviously, all of that was brought to bear in the context of the decisions that we made in relation to the Orcus announcement. That's what framed the decision that we made. Yes, we heard a piece of news from scratch and then turned it around in 24 hours. But it was against the backdrop of a lot of deep thinking in respect of Australia's future submarine capability over the course of years.
