The Advantages of Environmental DNA Monitoring

The amount of DNA floating around in the ocean from a particular organism is going to have something to do with the amount or number of that organism that's out there. Using that connection quantitatively is really, really challenging, but is increasingly being shown to be practical and doable for particular species one at a time.
