Employee Resource Groups
i really liked also, the stuff about employee resource groups. They are a place where people of different identities can gather amongst people who are like them. It is not the job of an under represented group to educate the members of the over represented groupabout their experience. That's just not ok. We are oppressing, further marginalizing people who already have excluded identities by making them perform free emotional labor. And i would say, what is uson not ok is when an organization puts together employee resource groups or employee community groups but there will always be one or two people in those employee resource groups that basically have two jobs.
