Ichi Koo Park was one of the first singles released using a phasing effect, developed by George Ccant. Marriott took the lead vocal, even though it was mostly Lane's song,. But Marriott did contribute to the writing, coming up with the middle eight. At the time there was not a clear distinction between the techniques known as phasing, flanging, and artificial double trekking.
