The Power of Science

In Spider-Man, Peter Parker gets his powers by being bitten by a radioactive spider while visiting an atomic power plant. When the story is retold in the original 2002 movie, Parker is once again given his powers through a spider bite,. But this time the spider isn't radioactive, but instead genetically altered. In both cases, one must wonder whom Uncle Ben is addressing with his words to Peter: With great power, comes great responsibility.
