In 1947, composer John Cage conceived of a piece of music called for 33 musicians playing nothing. He did something like that from his position for the first time and people were thrilled. It was in fact an active genius, an active genius that anyone in his position could have done, but no one did. And at least once in your life, you contributed something that somebody else needed.
