Languages That Have Evolved Differently

I'm wondering if you know how different languages have evolved over a period of time. For example some languages are just naturally minimalistic like perhaps Japanese and Korean which is why novelists in those languages even in translation tend to be quite sparse. Some languages are given to expressionism like maybe Bengali or Urdu so if you are to translate something from Urdu word for word to english it might seem to someone who's only writing English literature that this is too ornate. I think it's a question of the total aesthetics of a culture it's not something that evolves it is there in the culture.
