The Power of Skin in the Game
In the face of potential bad news, it's a natural tendency to avoid the news and stick your head in the sand like an ostrich. By having skin in the game, by being personally indebted, you're less likely to avoid bad news and you're more likely to face it head on. Most politicians and business leaders would be better off if they had more skin in thegame. I reckon most of us could learn from Churchill.
