The Problem With Joseph Smith's Authority
When the church was first founded, Joseph's authority primarily came from a perception that he had the power as a seer. And in the Doctrine and Covenants, it literally calls him a seer and a translator. But we now know that the Book of Mormon is not a translation because of all the episodes we've already talked about with the anachronisms and the plagiarisms. So this is why you keep getting these kind of like coral books where they kind of try to correlate some of this material to give you just a little bit of info but not actually tell you the full story.
