The Aseptic Version of Gender in Psychoanalysis
In the book we talk about specifically about intergenerational transmission, working with a case of a young assigned male at birth child who we call ORE. And that does not necessarily invalidate gender, whatever gender position one comes in with. So this aseptic version of gender that is uncontaminated by the social is a huge problem that we're trying to push back against. The question of etiology only comes up with respect to queer people and trans people,. what made them trans, what made them queer.
