The Strange Difference Between Ergative and Nominative Verb Agreement

It's much more common for them to just agree with whatever the subject is, whether they're transitive or intransitive if they have agreement. This is true of the whole agency thing and it's true of the tense and aspect things. For some reason, these splits often only occur in one direction, where nominative accusative always ends up on one side and ergative always on the other side.
