The Refutation of Frauud
J. J. Thomas was among those angered by such passages in James Anthony Frauud's West Indian Fables. In response, he published a series of articles in a newspaper called The St. George's Chronicle and Grenada Gazette. These became the first draft of his charmingly titled book, Frauudacity. He died in London in September of 1889, mere weeks after the book's publication.
