The Chief Justice's Invoking Concerns About the Supreme Court's Decisions
The Chief Justice has invoked concerns about public confidence in the Supreme Court as a basis for criticizing its opinions. He conspicuously does not do that, until voting in ways that generate a loose sense of who he is and what he stands for. The judiciary is the least dangerous branch of the federal branches because it must ultimately depend upon the aid of the executive arm and the states even for the efficacy of its judgments.
