The Unity of Action in Storytelling
A scene is a spectrum and at some point I'll talk about these unity's in terms of unity of form and other stuff but unity of time, unity of space, and action most scenes have those three of them sometimes montages kind of have two. The term that I've heard and for that is French scene so the idea is that you have character A and B and a scene character B leaves character C comes in. When that action is complete or thwarted you kind of get a new scene. They've got a classical like oh a character wants something they have an intention that's why they begin the scene and that is the unity of action.
