The Story of a Bank Taken Over by the State

Kiwi Bank is a traditional New Zealand bank that hasn't been around for very long. It performed okay-ish over the last decade but what I've noticed is that they were struggling to get their capital up to the higher requirements from the Reserve Bank. So it was decided that the owners or one of the owners thought like you know this is not a great investment and they wanted to abandon their investment in Kiwi Bank. The three owners were bought out by the state in August last year, which we call 'bailout' In our country we have an OIA or official information act which allows you to ask the government about these transactions.
