The Moral Hierarchy of Need and Undeservedness

CNN's John Sutter asks why some people don't mind eating a baboon, but not pigs. He says the answer is that intelligence and other attributes are more important to us than need or deservedness. Sutter: "I guess I'm just trying to actually post-hock fit my morality to my behavior" Only 5% of US adults consider themselves vegetarian, according to Gallup poll.
