Pythagoreanism in the Later Period of Neoplatonism
Pythagoreanism was perceived as a kind of ideal exemplar, both in ethics. And I guess even as a political figure in later neoplatonism. So could you tell us about that and what Amblicus did with Pythagoreanism? Yes. He understood the ideal state of the Republic as in fact in a Pythagorean community. This means that anything that's true and good in Plato is in fact a Pythagoras.
