Lucille Ball was cast in stage door, a movie about young women trying to break into theatre. Lucy kept her job likely because of her relationship with padro burman who produced the ginger rogers and fredistar films. She turned him down when he wanted to leave his family and marry lucy. The director of stage door gregory lakava would have secretaries walk among actresses during filming so they could talk about what they cared about. Lakava then had the idea of doing cuff shooting, which is making it up as you go along.
