The Success of Goldman Sachs

In the late 1980s, Goldman Sachs was almost not known at all in the UK. It took two years to persuade head of research at Goldman that they should hire me and one other. But we persevered. We became Goldman Sachs economists. And it was just a great thing for us to do. Do you kind of regret that Goldman's went public? I mean, I was amused to see the economists had the Goldman Sachs cover a few weeks ago. I should have just bought the shares because that's usually a good thing.
