Lucas: There's a lot of work that needs to be done to understand some of these things but specifically I'm gonna leave some of these definitional things out because we got to dig in a little bit more. In the 1950s liberation theology made its way into the Catholic Church in Latin America through a priest named Gutierrez and Gutiérrez, you know really was the the origination if you will of this idea of liberation theology. And then it jumps to America about the same time They kind of were developing almost simultaneously in like tandem tracks and in the form of what's known as black liberation theology. Lucas: Is it possible to encapsulate those ideologies quickly? Yeah for sure.
