The Cost of Sitting Back When Playing Defensively

Tottenham have had a number of opportunities when Spurs have had really good chances to go and kill a game off. It's just something that naturally do so maybe it is just from having worked with these you know defensively minded managers but there's a time and a place to sit back especially for like Liverpool or Manchester United. Maybe if you've got a lot of the same players then will it keep?
