Kaggle has done a great job of broadening the scope of machine learning to the overarching field. It seems intimidating because of its association with artificial intelligence and like Google artistic images that got created from AI bots. What you do in machine learning is very, very easy and can be applied to many different things even though it's research-based stuff.
