The DARPA Grand Challenge

The DARPA grand challenge was to get a robot, call it a robot back then, to drive across the desert to 150 miles in less than 10 hours. The state of the art was some guys said a Humvee driving at, I want to say 10 meters per second through a field with giant hay bales. And so the idea we could go across the, you know, across the Nevada desert for 150 miles on command was just like it was impossible.
