Kerouac was not a funny writer. He was so sincere. And there's like trying to think of any joke in it. I don't know if there's any. Any of them that I can think of like Hemingway can accord, you know, occasionally like make a dry crack or something in one of his books. But I don't think Fitzgerald's super funny. Why is it so it's so rare? It's so odd. Maybe like, maybe it has something to do with critical distance,. Like the beats had to do their thing and take it really seriously so that you and I could mock it or something.
