Do Corporations Really Have a Competitive Advantage?
Jonathan Davies: We have to recognize the constraints in human behavior. One of the issues with stakeholder capitalism is that companies may say things and not deliver on this, he says. He asks whether corporations can develop a competitive advantage or how can shareholders make them develop such a competitive advantage if at all. And why now so much compared tosay 10 years ago or 20 years ago, because it seems to really have taken a flight,. I think most of it remains the cheap talk, but everybody is pledging allegiance to these higher causes.
