The Challenges of Directorial Photography
We were shooting at really high ISO and then stopping down a really like F 11 and upwards F eight upwards so that we have really deep focus. There's also a lot of tricky bits with eyeline where the actors, they not only have to like bring all this emotion by themselves, but the eyeline of your eye looking around the screen doesn't play in the movie quite like it would if you really looked at that part of the screen. So I think that was probably the biggest challenge for us as directors. We watched a lot of movies that tried to recreate FaceTime and the dead giveaway is always that shallow depth of field.
